Kevin Corke Chair IEB

Kevin Corke joined the IEB in September 2020 and took on the role of Chair. He has been a governor since 2007 and became a National Leader of Governance in 2014, so brings a wealth of experience. Kevin has sat on a number of school governing bodies across the city and is currently Chair of Ecclesall Primary School Governing Body and Vice Chair of Coit & Ecclesfield Primary School Federation. Kevin has worked at the University of Sheffield for over 30years prior to moving to the University of Leeds. His current role covers the operational running of the Faculty of Biological Science which includes Finance, HR, H&S and capital developments, as well as supporting teaching and research. |
Michael Sanderson |
Michael Sanderson has been a National Leader of Governance with wide experience as a governor of special schools, as well as primary and secondary schools. He has been a member of the IEB since its inception, and is a former local government deputy chief officer.

Andy Wynne

Andy is currently Governance Leader for Learn Sheffield. He has worked in education for most of his career, starting out as a lecturer in Further & Adult Education, before moving into the schools sector in 2001, working as ‘Head of City Learning Centre’ and then leading the ICT strand of the Building Schools for the Future programme in Sheffield from 2007-2017. His main areas of interest have included ICT and learning technologies, school leadership and governance.

Danny Ross |
Danny is Head of school at the newly opened Discovery Academy in Sheffield. Former principal of Springwell Learning Community in Barnsley, Danny has held senior leadership positions in SEMH special schools and Alternative Provisions for 14 years. Passionate about ethical leadership, Danny has supported schools to understand how embedding a values driven, relational approach can have huge benefits to some of the hardest to reach children from the most challenging backgrounds. Selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator, Danny has worked internationally with schools looking to embed technology to transform learning. An advocate of ‘camouflage learning’, Danny inspires reluctant learners with new, engaging methods that help students to become tech savvy, independent, lifelong learners who connect with and embrace the ever-changing world.

Apart from the Headteacher, all the board members were appointed by the local authority.
